the Center of New Water Technologies, with the support of UNESCO-WWAP, the Spanish Ministry of Environment, the Andalusian Water Agency and the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation, is organizing the II International Congress SmallWat07 about Waste Water Treatment in Small Communities (www.smallwat.org) that will be held in Seville (Spain) from the 11th to the 15th of November 2007. This meeting, first held in 2002, has a double objective: o In first place, it is expected to be the showcase where the spectacular scientific and technical advances in the wastewater treatment have experienced are shown. Likewise, it is intended to be a debate arena for managers, technicians and users to identify their main problems in this field and draft a possible solution. o On the other hand, we intend to analyze the most significant aspects of the problem from a regional perspective, with special emphasis on the least favored areas, where the availability of basic drainage is low and steady solutions for the existing deficiencies are strongly required. In conclusion, to compromise and support the scientific-technical community with the compliance of the Millennium Goals, approaching their knowledge to the most vulnerable populations.
