Horizon 2020 Capacity Building/Mediterranean Programme Press Release
The Horizon 2020 Capacity Building/Mediterranean Programme (H2020 CB/MEP) aims at enhancing the capacities to adress pollution problems tat institutional and society level with a special focus on environmental mainstreaming.
A 3-day H2020 CB/MEP training course focusing on the environmental impacts of desalination took place in Barcelona at the end of november. The participants were mostly government officials of 10 Mediterranean countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Israel and Turkey), all of which meed to address the issue head-on. The course action towards viewing desalination within the hierarchy of water management and as a last option to water demand rather than as a stand-alone water resource.
