- Analyzing accurately the scientific and practical works published on the MELIA web site, it is evident that the most spread method to determine the crop water requirements is the one based on the crop coefficient approach. So, this work has been expressly carried out by the CRA-SCA of Bari (Italy) in order to give a comprehensive state of the art about the values of the crop coefficient of the main crops cultivated in the Mediterranean countries.
- GRUSI 2009: a workshop on irrigation in Mediterranean region (Bari (CRA-SCA and CIHEAM-IAMB) and Foggia (CRA-SCA), from 2009-06-03 14:00 to 2009-06-05 20:00) — by P35-ISA-Gianfranco Rana
- Every year, in Italy, a group of scientists and stakeholders discuss around irrigation. This year the meeting will be held in south Italy (Bari and Foggia). The subjects of this event are: (i) "climatic change and mitigation in agriculture" and (ii) "irrigation at farm and territorial levels in Mediterranean region". During the workshop the MELIA videos will be shown to the participants with a discussion on them.
